In order to reply the document No. 1684/BVMT date December, 09th 2005 of Vietnam Environment Protection Agency on formal government endorsement for a site to be promote regionally for study tours under the framework of ASEAN Peatland Management Initiative, FPA has realized that it is necessary to establish a demonstration site on peatland management and sustainable development as the best peatland management to protect biodiversity and ecology balance of peatland areas.

Forest Protection Department has decided to nominate Uminhha - Vodoi (Camau Province) and Uminhthuong national park (Kiengiang Province) as demonstration sites for best peatland management (BMP) practices in Vietnam.
