Peat Related Professional Experience/History: | U Minh Ha belong to Ca Mau province, Vietnam has an area of peat land forest vegetation with diverse wildlife and aquatic species. Peatland area before statistical 1987 about nearly 35,000 ha, now reduced to about 4647 hectares (thickness from 50 cm to 100 cm), in addition, there are more than 5,200 hectares of peat fire under the melaleuca forest regeneration (area of focus in the U Minh Ha National Park). Forest fires in many years, the area of peat in the U Minh Ha has decreased significantly. Forest fires have a huge impact on the peatland ecosystem, below the peat layer is alkaline soil, natural environment threatened if the upper peat fires make alum floor beneath exposed on ground.
