This paper provides a brief overview of peatlands and wetlands in Canada in 2004 within the context of protected areas. The information is based on Canada's National Ecosystem Framework (i.e. ecozones) and Wetland Classification System, as well as the protected area classes of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.
